All persons will be placed on the waiting list for the property you have selected.

MHA does not require an application fee to put in an application to be added to the waiting list of your choice. The property you choose however may have an application fee if this is the case, you will have to inquire of the property direct of the amount and the process.

Yes, as all PBH units are designated for persons age 62 and over. All household members will also have to meet the age requirement as well.

Any incomplete or unsigned applications will be rejected.

 The following locations are PBH assisted units offered by MHA in partnership with private owners.

MHA will provide a copy of the waiting list to the owner when a vacant unit is available. The owner in turn will ensure you meet there program qualifications. Once you have qualified with the property you will be contacted by MHA to set up an Eligibility briefing and eligibility interview to determine if you qualify for the program.

Once the property notifies MHA you do not qualify for the PBV program your name will be removed from the waiting list as you did not meet the qualifications for the program.

You meet the eligibility requirements for phase 1 qualifying with the property and phase 2 meeting the program eligibility requirements of MHA. If you do not meet both requirements you are not eligible to participate in the PBV program.

Often person forget to give us there birth certificates, a valid state issued picture ID, social security card, proof of their income or assets dated within 60 days and for persons who have been married in the past or current marriage license, death certificates and or divorce decrees.

The PBH assistance is project based assistance, so you will not be able to move with continued assistance. Once you move from the property your assistance ends.

All changes must be reported to MHA in writing. You will need to complete a notice of household change form provided by MHA and attach the proof to validate the change such as third party documents.

It depends the property you select. The property has their  own rules and leasing requirements which you will have to adhere to those requirements.

No you will be responsible to pay the security deposit. MHA will only provide rental assistance to you once we are under an active contract and you are under an active lease with the owner.

This is a question you will have to ask the property management direct, they will make you aware of the type of utilities you are responsible to pay.

This is a program violation as you are required to keep any utilities you are responsible to pay for on at all times. You will be given 24 hours notice to get them back on your failure to do so may result in termination of your rental assistance.

You will have to adhere to terms and conditions of the leasing agreement you have with the property management. In addition you will have to adhere to the family obligations outlined by MHA. If you fail to meet either of these requirements may result in your eviction and or termination from the program.

Questions in regards to the property and or lease you will inquire of the property manager. Any questions you have in regards to the PBH program or your assistance, such as rental amounts, you will contact the appropriate caseworker who is handling your case at MHA.
